Film Is Not Dead

When we went to Disney World last month, we took along a disposable camera that only had 27 shots. There was something special and nostalgic about not being about to take 100 shots and pick the best one.

When we got home, we thought about Walgreens to have the pictures developed but they just ship it of. Instead we stumbled upon Midwest Film Company and they were awesome.

Wichita Brewing Co Delano

We got a sneak peak tour of the new Wichita Brewing Co in Delano last week.

It looks incredible and I can’t wait for you all to see it in person. It has plenty of space for events, family-friendly outings, date night, and even has a roof.

A fun fact about the new ownership - Ben Simon is the son of Freddy’s co-founder Randy Simon and will be President of the new ownership group.

The “real-time info center” at City Hall will give access to up to 1500 video streams all in one spot.

Wichita Schools

There is an awful lot of news out there right now regarding USD259. I’ll try to summarize the best I can:

There is a vote next week (2/25) in-person or start early in-person voting as early as tomorrow
This vote is
Here is a breakdown of how the “zero tax increase” bond issue will affect your property taxes
It is called a zero tax increase or zero rate-change because there is already a bond issue in place, so you will continue paying the same amount as you currently do
If you vote no, then your taxes would go down, but this has a direct impact on what the schools need to operate
Four schools - L’Ouverture, OK, Pleasant Valley and Woodland will be closed regardless of the outcome of the vote

Last week, we did a deep dive on the history of Intrust Bank Arena to celebrate the 15 Year Anniversary.

Fun fact that you might not know - you can buy tickets for Intrust Bank Arena, Century 2, or Capital Federal Amphitheater shows at the Intrust Bank Arena box office daily M-F from 10-6 (or later if they have an event), good way to avoid those high online fees.
