Good morning, Wichita!
There is a lot going on this month. Get out and enjoy Wichita!
Letās get to it!
- Landon

Apple Jam

If you go out east of Wichita, youāll find construction Andover.
If you go a little further east and a bit south, youāll find Meadowlark Farm Orchard & Cidery.
Now I have a whole deep dive and podcast coming out about the past and present of ole Meadowlark, but for now I wanted to fill you in on a little secret happening out there this weekend (9/12) called Apple Jam 2026. Youāll find award-winning bluegrass music, fresh apple pickinā, cider making, apple-cider donuts and more (and itās supposed to not be 100 degrees, knock on wood)!

Together with Somewhere Fest
Your friendly reminder that Somewhere Fest is right around the corner!
This two-day festival brings multiple stages, immersive art, sculptures and plenty more to Wichita. Itās truly one of those events that continues to put Wichita on the map.
Choose from one-day or two-day passes, with both GA and VIP options available. Get yours today!

Luxury Apartments
There is a new $70 million, 259-unit luxury apartment calledĀ The 906Ā coming to Waterman and Washington (think close-ish to INTRUST Bank Arena)
Elote Man
If youāve been around Wichita, youāve probably heard of the Elote Man, Don Alberto Quezada who sells elotes near 21st St and Waco. He is currently recovering from surgery.
TheĀ communityĀ is rallying around him with an event on October 25th at Empower in the Nomar District.
There is also aĀ GoFundMe.
7 Brew Lines
If you went back in time 10 years and said there was a mile long line at 7 Brew for a glittery NeeDoh cube, youād probably say HUH?
Well that sentence was true this week at some Wichita area 7 Brews (thatās a coffee shop) where people waited for (i assume) a long time to get a little squishy toy.
If you noticed a long line at the 7 Brew at Maple and Ridge
Old Chicago
Old Chicago without beer is like Pizza Hut without Pizza. Like Starbucks without coffee.
Well the Wichita area Old Chicagos lost their liquor license accidently. I hope you werenāt one beer away from the beer tour t-shirt.
NONPROFIT
Goodwill Ribbon Cutting
Congrats to Goodwill on the ribbon cutting at the newly renovated west central store.

TogetherĀ with Backyard Specialists

They opened up in 2008 and have built one of the most trusted local brands providing outdoor play sets, basketball hoops, spring free trampolines, poly furniture, and more (including installation which is a life saver).

Change the City
It doesnāt take a lot to change our city. Ask the two sixth graders who served free spaghetti to hundreds on Labor Day.
Jesseās Booster Pac Adventures
Wichita childrenās author Louis Luna has launched Jesseās Booster Pac Adventures, a new chapter book series for ages 7ā12 that follows a 12-year-old boy traveling through history using a magical pack of trading cards. The first two books take Jesse to the Wright Brothersā first flight in 1903 and Jackie Robinsonās first game in 1947, with more historical adventures to come.
